Layla's story 2 glee fanfic

It was my second week at McKinley and me, Kurt and Mercedes were walking threw the halls talking together.
"so do you guys want to get lunch together" I asked
"sorry we have glee club" sighed Kurt
"well why don't we go for coffee after school"
"again we have glee club we have sectionals in three weeks we have to practise" said Mercedes
"Whats sectionals?" I asked
"it's a competition show choirs", Kurt explained "if you win that you go to regionals and then nationals"
"erm so did you win last year"
"well we drew for sectionals, won regional's and came 12th for nationals" Kurt sighed
"that's amazing" I gasped
"not the same as winning though is it" said Mercedes
"It's still pretty amazing"

I was fed up of being alone at lunch time. I had only been at this school for two weeks and I had been slushed by jocks 13 times. No wonder they like glee club so much it gets them away from that.

I sighed pushing the soggy salad on my plate about
"hey freak girl" said Azimio and a couple of other guy's most of the people were holding slushes
"what do you want" I snapped then they all poured the slushes over my had and walked away casually as if nothing had happened.

I knocked on the office door
"come in" I walked in. behind the desk sat mr.shue
"hi erm Layla is it it, everything OK" he asked
I nodded "yeah everything's fine, I just wanted to ask you something"
"what is it?"
"I want to join glee club, I know it's almost sectionals but can i please try out" I begged
"well can you sing"  
"erm I don't now, Iv'e never sung in front of anyone before"
"well Ill give you a shot come to glee practise after school in the choir room, do you need any help picking a song?" he asked
"no I have the perfect one"

I walk into the choir room after school. There was a girl with short blond hair, a boy with a Mohawk an Asian couple and a boy in a weal chair all sat around chatting but there was no one I recognised.
"Layla" I heard a girl say
"hi erm Rachel right"
"yeah er what sre you doing hear your not in glee club"
"no, I wanted to try out and Mr Schuster told me to come hear to audition hear" I mumbeld nervously
"oh, erm well good luck she said sat next to a boy I think is called Finn.

I was so nervous For a start I had no idea if I was a good singer and I was singing an incredibly hard song
I felt a little tap on my back and almost screamed "sorry I didn't mean to frighten you, I just was a little confused erm what are you doing hear" asked Kurt
"I'm trying  out for the club" I said
"i didn't know you could sing" said Blaine appearing behind him
"I still don't know if I can, Iv'e never actually sang in front of anyone" I sighed
"I'm sure you'll be amazing"

"All right we have someone trying out for the club today so like everyone else she has to audition, ok go ahead Layla" said Mr Schuster once everyone had arrived
"Erm hello everyone, I'm Layla James and Iv'e never sang in front of anyone so I don't know if I'm any good, any way Ill be singing Time to say goodbye by Sarah Brightman"
"wait isn't that classical and really hard?" asked Mercedes I nodded

My heart was pounding I wanted to run out the room but it was too lae now. I nodded at Mr Schuster to tell him to click play. The music filled the room I took a deep breath and opened my mouth

Everyone was staring at me. Some people had there mouths open and I swear the boy with the Mohawk had a tear in his eye.
"was that good" I asked my heart pounding
"t....that was amazing were did you learn to sing like that" said Rachel everyone turned to her looking even more shocked
"I don't know Iv'e only ever sang to my self, so am I in because thats not the only type of music I can sing I could try another if you want"
